Food Sense Program Available At Catholic Charities

On June 8 the Emergency Services Program of Catholic Charities of Oswego County, in cooperation with the Food Bank of Central New York, will sponsor a fresh food distribution. Fresh foods and produce will be available, free of charge to those in need, from 4 until 6 p.m. or until food is gone.
Catholic Charities inaugural CYO Rock the Rim Basketball Tournament will tip off at 3 p.m. this Saturday at the Fulton War Memorial, West Broadway.

Staff accompanied more than 50 participants as they discovered the many attractions and interactive displays that the MOST has to offer that allows visitors to have fun while they learn more about science.
Fresh foods and produce will be available, free of charge to those in need, May 11 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. or until food is gone.

Scheduled for May 21, Catholic Charities’ CYO Rock the Rim Basketball Tournament begins at 3 p.m. and will be held at the Fulton War Memorial, West Broadway. According to CYO Director, Jim Smiley, the event will appeal to basketball enthusiasts of all ages.
From 5 to 9 p.m. on April 18, Fajita Grill will donate 10% of all sales, including take out and pick-up window orders to Catholic Charities’ Food Pantry.
Each month through the Food Sense Program families and individuals have the opportunity to purchase specially priced food packages consisting of fresh meats, fresh produce, and frozen foods.

A former teacher’s aide in the Fulton School District, she is happy to be a part of the program. “I’ve always wanted to work for a non-profit agency and have a career that I can feel good about. It’s rewarding to know that you are making a difference in someone’s life and this position allows me to do that,” she said.

In honor of National Mentoring Month, Catholic Charities of Oswego County recently recognized United Way of Greater Oswego County for its support of the CYO Mentoring Program.
