Three-Day Value Added Dairy/Cheesemaking Workshop Offered

Participants the opportunity to learn about milk quality, ingredients used in cheesemaking, processes for making a variety of cheeses, salting and brining, techniques and requirements for aging cheese, and information for establishing a business as a farmstead or artisan cheesemaker that includes equipment, facilities. The heart of the workshop is the hands-on opportunity for participants to make a number of different cheeses themselves, and to learn by actually doing it.

Cooperative Extension Warns Gardeners: Watch Out For Late Blight on Tomatoes

Do you have tomato plants in your backyard garden?  Then you need to be on the lookout for what’s called “late blight”.  Late blight was involved in the great Irish potato famine.  Once under control, the disease is back.  A Cornell scientist says late blight is here early this year, and more severe than usual.
