Oswego School District Looks To Fund Clubs

In the coming school year’s budget, cuts were made to the stipends of some clubs’ advisers. Tuesday night, school board member Dave White sought to have funds returned to four long-time OHS clubs. Sam Tripp, board president, said he supported the idea. But, the money would have to come from some other place as he won’t increase the budget.

Oswego School Board Set To Vote On Budget Plan

Unless things change again – the Oswego school board will vote next week on a budget plan for the 2010-11 school year. At Tuesday night’s board meeting, Superintendent Bill Crist presented budget option three, a tweaked version of what board members said at last week’s meeting that they wanted to see. The spending plan contains a zero percent tax levy increase.

School Board Seeks More Budget Cuts, No Tax Hike

The Oswego school board agreed 5-2 on Wednesday night to consider Superintendent Bill Crist’s proposed 2010-11 budget Option No. 2 – with an asterisk. The asterisk is that the superintendent modify his plan to include the elimination of two more administrative positions and trim the 2.5 percent tax increase to zero or below.

Hoefer Supports Superintendent’s Plan For Oswego District

The Oswego School Board member says the superintendent is trying to do something right. Instead of cutting him, the board should give him a chance. “I want to see if he can pull this (budget) off with no tax increase,” Hoefer added. The superintendent will present his proposed spending plan next week.
