Nestles Update: ALDI Rep Says Construction To Begin This Spring

Demolition remains ongoing at the former Nestles property in Fulton, specifically targeting the more than two-acre corner lot promised to global supermarket chain, ALDI. Fulton Mayor Ronald Woodward Sr. said that Aldi is still interested in the site and demolition remains ongoing through the winter to the best that weather conditions allow. An Aldi representative recently confirmed this information to Oswego County Today.

Nestles Demolition Becomes Visible to Public

A bittersweet day for many long term Fulton residents, as the former Nestles buildings can now be seen being demolished from Route 481, the main road the buildings sit on. According to Fulton City Mayor, Ronald Woodward Sr. this is not the first day of demolition as much of the work already completed was done in the back of the buildings to be able to access the front. “They have been demoing in the back for a while. The buildings in the front that are being done now had a lot hooked to them in the back, all of that needed to be done first,” said Woodward. Traffic was affected for the first time today, as Fulton City Police Officers monitored the road and traffic flow, creating one lane usage.

Fulton Officials Discuss Details of Former Nestles Property Project

At the council meeting November 4, county legislator Frank Castiglia Jr. approached the board with some questions and concerns in regards to the demolition of the former Nestles property in Fulton. The city recently bid off the former Nestles property to be demolished and awarded the job to Infinity Enterprises to tear down the site for no cost to the city, only sole salvage rights to everything on the property.

Traffic Alert – Street Closure Planned For Demolition Work Friday

The Oswego City Police Department wishes to alert motorists to a traffic change planned for tomorrow (Aug. 13). Due to the planned demolition of the building located at 133 W. Fifth St., the Traffic Section of the Oswego Police Department will be closing West Fifth Street from West Oneida Street to West Bridge Street for all vehicular traffic.
