Disabled veterans who have an interest in learning how to fly fish are invited to visit the Mexico VFW at 7 p.m. on Monday evenings for fly-tying classes. Disabled veterans who receive compensation from the VA are welcome to attend as many classes as they like, free of charge.

Oswego Industries Inc Receives Donated Display Unit
Oswego Industries, Inc. recently received a donation of a three-door, refrigerated soda display unit from Tom Rookey of Sackets Harbor. The display unit is being used in the nonprofit’s “Fun Rock Cafe,” which is both a cafeteria for staff and program participants and a job training program for adults with disabilities.

ARC of Oswego County Hosts Family Education Night This Thursday
Roxanne Euson, the former Director of Parkside Children’s Services and a Special Projects Teacher with ARC of Oswego County, will speak on power struggles and separation anxiety with special children. A parent panel will also offer a chance for families to share experiences and ask questions.

Sandy Creek Artist Featured on the Cover of UNIQUE Magazine
The UNIQUE 2009 Unveiling Celebration on October 14, 2009 marked the first time Alice Faye Olcott had shown her art in over four years. She was thrilled and surprised when she saw her painting “Blue Moon†on the cover of UNIQUE 2009. Despite severe pain and loss of strength, she danced with her husband in celebration – the first time she had danced in years.

Stephanie Crowley, Director of Community Relations for ARC of Oswego County, accepts a donation of legal services valued at $300 for the ARC Gala silent auction from Tim Fennell of Amdursky, Pelky, Fennell & Wallen, P.C. The donated certificate will entitle the winner to the preparation of a Last Will and Testament, Living Will, Health Care Proxy, and Power of Attorney.
