Oswego School District Budget Taking Shape
The proposed spending plan for the 2011-12 school year is likely to cut some staff. However, the superintendent pointed out Wednesday night that there might be a “cushion” that allows for some cuts to be restored. The entire school board will debate the tentative budget at the Feb. 22 regular meeting.

The Oswego City School District Board of Education today (July 14) approved the acceptance of a bid for sod replacement at Joe Wilber Field and allowing a volunteer to prepare the field for the sod installation. The board nearly didn’t get to the resolution as the meeting erupted into a shouting match between members Dave White and Fran Hoefer.

State Agriculture Commissioner Tours Onion Devastation
Local fruit and produce farmers have lost well over a million dollars, they say, because of recent storms. Every farmer with damage should tell their local farm service agency to quantify the loss, the commissioner said. That will open the door to getting relief for the farmers.
