The Oswego Players and The Church of the Resurrection’ sixth annual Dinner Show will “Barefoot in the Park”, will feature a Cast of area actors in Neil Simon’s “Barefoot in the Park”.
The Do Good Swing Band, a 17-piece Big Band exactly like those made popular in the 1930s and 40s, will play a dance at the Oswego American Legion, W 4th and Bridge streets, 7:00 to 10:00 p.m., Nov. 1, it was announced by Donald R. Goodness, director and lead trumpet.
Known for its polish and passion, the quintet has been called “one of chamber music’s most sparkling and eloquent ensembles” by Time magazine. Its repertoire spans baroque to contemporary and includes its commissioned piece “George Perle’s Quintet IV,” which earned a Pulitzer Prize in 1986.
The sounds of rock ‘n’ roll oldies and country music will fill the air during the CNY Great Pumpkin Festival as the band Halfway to Nowhere, featuring Oswego Idol, Tammy Stewart, will be performing throughout the day on Sunday, October 5th.
The display will feature large-scale photographs of horse drives as well as the cowboys who regularly herd the animals to distant locations. It reflects Schippers’ lifetime interest in the horse subject and her desire to capture their spirit and beauty while pursuing fresh, unique and creative perspectives.
Robert Auler, an award-winning American concert pianist, will perform in the first of a new series of piano concerts, 3 p.m., Sunday Oct. 5, in the G. Ray Bodley High School auditorium, it was announced by Steve Chirello, president of the Fulton Music Association (FMA).
The Guitar Symposium will incorporate classical finger style, funk, fusion and traditional, Brazilian and gypsy jazz into its workshops, master classes and performances. Artists doubling as instructors will include Jeff Linksy, Oz Noy, Peter Bernstein and Frank Vignola. The symposium will feature a concert by the Brasil Guitar Duo.
