Honey Foundation Holds BBQ Sunday To Raise Funds For Kids Fighting Cancer
The Honey Foundation will hold a barbecue chicken fundraiser Sunday, August 16 at the Volney Fire Department, Route 3 in Volney. Heather “Honey” Oney of Fulton died March 20, 2009, just a few days after her 16th birthday. She fought brain cancer and won, but lost a second battle against the disease.
Regional Summer School Supports Make-A-Wish
Students in grades 7-12 took part in the fund-raising efforts in several different ways. Middle school students participated in two hat days to help raise money for the cause and monetary contributions were collected throughout the entire six weeks of school. The final fundraiser for Make-A-Wish was “Guess How Many M & Ms are in the Jar?â€Â
Sheriffs Support 6th Annual “Blue Ribbon Ride†Against Child Abuse
The Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County received some much needed support recently for its upcoming 6th Annual “Blue Ribbon Ride†Against Child Abuse. Part of the CAC’s Blue Ribbon Campaign that focuses on awareness and prevention of child abuse in Oswego County, the ‘Blue Ribbon Ride’ is a 80 mile motorcycle ride that will wind throughout Oswego County.

Hannibal Village Market IGA held its 6th annual Captain and Crew Community Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Griffin’s Greens Golf Course in Oswego followed by a Chicken BBQ dinner at Humphreys Hide-A-Way. This year, $7,000.00 was raised with all proceeds going to (3) Hannibal community not-for- profit organizations:

Nineteen Canadians got on their bikes July 3 and began the third annual fundraising trek benefiting a charity that ships recycled bicycles to Malawi, a small nation on the eastern edge of Africa.
Concert To Benefit CNY Family Battling Tuberous Sclerosis
A benefit concert will be held on Friday, July 17, at 7 pm to raise funds for a Central New York family whose infant is battling a rare disorder called Tuberous Sclerosis. Admission is free, but donations are welcomed to help defray medical costs for Jude Langstaff, who was diagnosed at 6 weeks of age.
