Oswego Girl Scout’s Gold Award project seeks support for the service men and women serving overseas. Camille Graham, of Girl Scout Troop 41, is organizing a program to send various items to the troops to remind them of the support that they have back home.
Julie Billings, a vice president of Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways Council, told the Oswego Sunrise Rotary Club about recent changes in the Girl Scouts.
Recently, Girl Scouts (of NYPENN Pathways) from the Oswego Service Unit held its year end award ceremony to honor exceptional Girl Scouts, adult volunteers and scout leaders.
Katherine Robinson, a Girl Scout Senior from Oswego, organized a crochet/knitting event to benefit micro-preemie babies within the community. At the event, dozens of volunteers helped her make hats, booties and blankets. They will all be donated to area hospitals.
Kelsie Wilson of the Parish Girl Scout Troop 710 decorated these “Blizzard Bags†and collected individually wrapped non-perishable food and drink items to be delivered to home bound and other seniors in the Parish community.

The Elm Roads Service Unit of the Girl Scouts Council of Central New York held their annual Sock Hop in the CYO gym at Catholic Charities of Oswego County. The Sock Hop, which brings together Girl Scouts from troops in the greater Liverpool area, provided the Scouts with an afternoon of dancing, music, and games.
Members of Girl Scout Troop 314 in Phoenix recently volunteered to clean up the Character Education Garden at Maroun Elementary School as part of their community service.
