Fulton Submits Application For Third Round DRI Funding

Fulton city officials came together to discuss a final application submitted to the Central New York Regional Economic Development Council in the hopes of being the $10 million winner of the third round of Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) funding from Governor Cuomo. Having applied for the past two years, city officials are confident that this application is capable of winning. Joe Fiumara, the Director of Fulton’s Community Development Agency said the application is, “the best application we’ve put together so far without a doubt.”

Community Leaders React to $10M for Downtown Oswego

Governor Andrew Cuomo made a trip to Oswego (July 14) to formally announce the city’s status as a Downtown Revitalization Initiative funding winner in the Central New York region. As a winner of this funding, Oswego will receive ten million dollars to use as means to revamp the downtown area of the city, one of ten overall winners out of 122 total applications throughout each region of the state. Mayor of Oswego, William Barlow Jr., referred to as “one of the youngest, but also one of the best in the state” by Governor Cuomo, was prideful of the application the city had developed and was overjoyed it had been selected.

Fulton Officials Anxiously Await Results of DRI Application

City officials are anxiously awaiting the results of who will win the $10 million in state funding up for grabs for one municipality in the region. The city submitted its Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) application at the end of May as one of four communities in the CNY region to submit a proposal for the grant, including the closest contender coming from Fulton’s neighboring city, Oswego.
