The recent Oswego Community Neighborhood Watch Program meeting provided an update on the city’s nuisance abatement ordinance. Nearly two dozen people attended the informational session at Oswego Library.According to coordinator Betty Gray, the more people know about the ordinance, the more they will be able to help police enforce it.
The motto of the Oswego Community Neighborhood Watch Program is “We look out for each other.†It’s just that simple, according to coordinator Betty Gray. “Neighborhood Watch and caring for our citizens, neighborhoods and community is everyone’s responsibility to help our city prosper and return to safety for all,†she said
People living in Oswego’s Second Ward are fed up with the noise, vandalism, foul language and overall bad behavior of some of the youth in the area. Residents held a meeting with their alderman and representatives of the police department to let their feelings be known.
