The first part of September 2009 was relatively mild like it should be; while the last several days were rainy and cold like an early spring month, noted Bill Gregway, local observer for the National Weather Service. The vast majority of the month’s rainfall fell in the last part of the month.
August 2009 Was ‘Pretty Much Normal’
The average temperature was just 0.7-degree warmer than average. And, the total precipitation was 0.47-inch below normal.
July 2009 Was Cooler But Not As Wet As Usual
July goes into the record book cooler, but not as wet as you may think. The average temperature last month was 67.2 degrees, which is 3.6 degrees cooler than normal. Total precipitation for the month was 2.82 inches. That is 0.21-inch below average.
Lots Of Wind, But No Snow – Yet
Tuesday’s windstorm dumped more than a half an inch of rain on the area. The month’s snowfall total is stuck at a trace, however. Wind speeds reached into the mid-40s. Warmer weather is expected for the next couple of days.
September Was Warmer, Drier Than Normal
The average temperature last month was 1.2 degrees warmer than average. Meanwhile, the total precipitation for September was 2.30 inches below average.
