Held Dec. 12 at the SUNY Oswego Campus Center ice rink, the event gave community members the opportunity to skate on the rink and meet and skate with members of the college’s men’s and women’s ice hockey teams.
The holiday season is a busy time throughout the Oswego City School District as once again a massive undertaking has been under way for the past several weeks in hopes of brightening this season for area families.
A group of fourth through sixth grade Frederick Leighton Elementary School students created cards for residents of the Sunrise Nursing Home. They personally delivered the holiday greetings.
Some have spent about the same as last year; perhaps a bit more. Everyone is looking for the best deal for their money. Many are opting for creative ways to give gifts instead of fighting crowds at the stores.
Joanne Anderson of the Prince Of Peace Church in Fulton presented Jo-Lyn Phillips of Oswego County Opportunities with boxes of food that the congregation donated for families living in OCO’s homeless apartment program.
