As longtime legislator Kimberly Seager prepares for her new position as Oswego County Family Court Judge, she is also preparing to step down from her seat on the Oswego County Legislature. Seager has to resign from the 10th District chair by Dec. 31.
State Sen. Darrel J. Aubertine today expressed his disappointment that lawmakers returned to Albany, but took no action to modify this year’s budget to close budget gaps.
Residents in Oswego County are officially calling for Department of Social Service Commissioner Fran Lanigan’s job. Jackie Siver and Colleen Scott each approached the Oswego County Legislature Thursday to present petitions asking to have Lanigan removed from her position in response to the death of 11-year-old Erin Maxwell.
The absentee ballot count in the race for the 17th District seat on the Oswego County Legislature has overturned the victory for the seat. Incumbent Mary Flett won the seat by 11 votes, taking 662 votes to challenger Dan Hoefer’s 651.
Oswego County Board of Elections Commissioner Donald Wart says the one race that is close enough to be overturned by paper will be the first race counted today as the board tallies the votes from affidavit and absentee ballots. Write-in votes will also be counted today.
The Oswego County Legislature’s Finance and Personnel Committee presents a certificate of appreciation to Susan Altimonda for 20 years of service to Oswego County.
