The hallways and classrooms in most buildings were teeming with activity during the Open House with special activities and presentations in many areas to share with parents and visitors. Parents also had the opportunity to meet teachers and see the student classrooms. Visitors toured areas of the Stern Building and Burton Ramer Technical Career Center where the classes are held.

Three years ago Carolyn Hiler wanted to start a program that would introduce the pipe organ as the great musical instrument it is to young people. With grants from the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau, she was able to provide Pedals, Pipes, and Pizza l and ll to the community at no charge.

Workshop to Discuss Strategies on Marketing Agricultural Products in a Global Economy
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County will be hosting a workshop on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 from 10 am till 2 pm entitled “Developing a Competitive Edge in a Global Agriculture Economy†to address concerns such as labor, food safety regulations, and the challenges in marketing agricultural produce on a global scale. The agenda for the workshop follows:

Oswego School Board Updated On BOCES Proposal
The proposed project includes renovation of approximately 196,000 existing square feet as well as adding approximately 70,000 square feet of new space. The new space essentially replaces several buildings that are no longer suitable for use, according to Dr. Joseph Camerino, BOCES district superintendent.

Mexico Man Charged In Shotgun Incident
Bryon Patchen had been distraught over a dispute with his ex-girlfriend, police say. He reportedly fired a 12-gauge shotgun into the side of an unoccupied, parked vehicle and fled the scene. No one was injured. He is being held at OCJ.
