Central Square Plans For Elementary Students To Return In-Person Five Days Per Week, Middle School, High School Students To Return Four Days Per Week

Central Square Central School District sent out a letter to the district community yesterday detailing some new information – the district plans for elementary students to return to school in-person five days a week  and middle school and high school students may return for four days a week beginning April 30.

History Repeats Itself For Oswego Middle School Musicians, Singers

Proud OMS students displayed the trophies that were won at the annual Darien Lake Music Festival. Holding the trophies (from left) are Robbie Bruce, Mariah Metcalf and Mark Forger.

On June 3, the Oswego Middle School String Orchestra and Chorus traveled to perform and compete at the Darien Lake Music Festival competition at Six Flags Darien Lake.  This is the second consecutive year that the OMS Orchestra has been awarded the Grand Champions Trophy. The Grand Champion honor has been earned by the orchestra in nine of the last 12 years.

Oswego Middle School, Ticonderoga Principals Make Short List For Schroon Superintendent Search

Oswego Middle School Principal Bonnie Finnerty is one of two finalists in the search for a new superintendent at the Schroon Lake Central School. On Wednesday, she was informed by the president of the Schroon board of education of the decision. Finnerty was named OMS principal in July 2008.

Student Reportedly Admits To Fake Threat At OMS

UPDATED: Earlier today (Feb. 17) an Oswego Middle School student wrote a message on a restroom stall indicating that there was a bomb in the building, according to a district statement sent to OMS parents and staff. School officials immediately instituted a ‘stay in place’ as they prepared to evacuate the building. However, evacuation was not necessary as the student provided the administration with a written admission of guilt, the district said.
