Oswego County Will Auction Tax Properties Sept. 27
Oswego County takes title to residential and farm properties after the taxes have gone unpaid for approximately four years. Title is taken for vacant land and commercial properties after two years of non-payment of taxes. The auction inventory may include open land, mobile home sites, dwellings, commercial and waterfront properties.

Oswego County DSS Asks NYS to Review Agency Records
Oswego County child welfare workers had been inside the home of Erin Maxwell at some point before her death, which police call a homicide. Oswego County officials say that while the home was in bad condition, it did not meet the requirements for pulling the child from the home. Now, under scrutiny after the 11 year old girl’s death, the county is asking the state to investigate to see if it did everything by the book.

Health Department Will Hold Rabies Clinic in Hastings Sept. 10
Oswego County residents can have their pets vaccinated against rabies at the county Health Department’s rabies clinic Wednesday, Sept. 10. The clinic will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hastings Town Garage. The garage is behind the Hastings Municipal Building, north of Central Square off U.S. Route 11.
