The Oswego Health Board of Directors announced today (Dec. 13) that it will begin a search process to replace president and CEO Chuck Gijanto. The board offered to extend Gijanto’s agreement, but he is unable to accept due to personal reasons. Gijanto was hired by Oswego Health as an interim president and CEO in September 2015.
The Literacy Coalition of Oswego County will host a free literacy event, “Every Hero Has A Story,” noon to 3 p.m., Nov. 7 at Hannibal Middle School, 846 Cayuga St.
Syracuse native and jazz trumpeter Joe Magnarelli, with his wife, Akiko Tsuruga “Queen of the Organ,” headline the 2015 Fulton Jazz Fest, 5-11:30 p.m. on Aug. 7 and 4 – 11 p.m. Aug. 8. The event is on the shores of Lake Neahtahwanta, behind the Fulton War Memorial on Route 3 and admission is free.
“Jazz Organ Monster” Tony Monaco, king of the Hammond B3 Organ, headlines the 2014 Fulton Jazz Fest, with cool jazz and hot nights, 5-11 p.m. on Aug. 8 and 4:30-11 p.m. Aug. 9, it was announced by the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce, festival host.
“Over $10,000 was raised by more than 450 participants in the third annual Run For Dennis 5k Run/Walk, held on March 15 to honor the memory of Oswego resident Dennis Pacheco (5/28/59-3/17/11), a victim of bladder cancer,” it was announced by Jessica Newson, race director and Pacheco’s daughter.
The Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce will present two evenings of great music, fantastic food and lots of fun when the 2013 edition of the Fulton Jazz Fest brings cool jazz to the hot nights on the shores of Lake Neahtahwanta behind the War Memorial in Fulton 5-11 p.m. on Friday and 4:30 – 11 p.m. Saturday.
