When the call went out from the American Patchwork & Quilting Magazine for quilters to make and donate one million pillowcases, a group of longtime quilting friends sewed nearly 100 colorful pillowcases that they donated to Oswego Hospital for use by pediatric surgery patients.
Following three months of construction the new entrance and lobby opened April 7th. The completely renovated space includes a reception center, patient registration offices and a comfortable waiting area. The expanded lobby also features a snack bar and gift shop operated by members of the Oswego Health Auxiliary.
Among the three Oswego Health Auxiliary scholarship recipients was Nola Gardner, R.N., who is pursuing her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from SUNY Upstate College of Nursing.
The Oswego Health Auxiliary has presented scholarships to three employees that plan to advance their careers.
The creator of one of the most watched YouTube videos will be this year’s YIKAN kickoff guest speaker. To accommodate Speaker Judson Laipply, this event will change from a breakfast to a lunch and will be held from noon until 1:30 p.m. at the Oswego YMCA Armory.
