UPDATED: A suspect was chased through Oswego Thursday evening by Fulton police officers, county sheriff’s deputies and Oswego police officers. The suspect was apprehended after being Tasered at his residents about a half mile west of the Port City. Several law enforcement vehicles were damaged in the incident, but there were no serious injuries. The investigation is on-going.
On Sunday, at about 8:49 a.m., a victim reported that at about 3 that morning she had been assaulted by an adult male, with whom the victim had a prior relationship and during the assault was unlawfully restrained.
The motto of the Oswego Community Neighborhood Watch Program is “We look out for each other.†It’s just that simple, according to coordinator Betty Gray. “Neighborhood Watch and caring for our citizens, neighborhoods and community is everyone’s responsibility to help our city prosper and return to safety for all,†she said
On Sept. 11, the Fulton Police Department will be distributing gun locks at the Fulton Farmers’ Market from 9 a.m. to noon.
On Aug. 20, at about 3:10 a.m., Oswego Police were dispatched to a burglary in progress at a West Cayuga Street residence. Subsequently four suspects were charged in connection with the crime.
On Aug. 15, at about 4:46 a.m., Oswego Police responded to a burglary in progress call at an East Seventh Street address in which the suspect was being chased from the scene by civilians. Upon arrival, police located the suspect who had fallen and injured his leg.
Police say they had to use a Taser to subdue a man who was involved in an alleged family fight that had turned physical. The man was tased when he charged at officers, Fulton Police say.
This Saturday, the Fulton Police Department’s Bicycle Patrol Unit will be on hand at the Fulton Farmers’ Market from 9 a.m. to noon to distribute and properly fit free bicycle helmets for children.
James P. Comerford, 52, a resident of 52 E. Oneida St., Oswego, passed away Saturday evening July 31, 2010, at the Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown after becoming ill while camping with friends and family at Southwick Beach State Park.
At approximately 1:10 p.m. today (July 29), Oswego Police were dispatched to Wal-Mart, 341 State Route 104 regarding a bomb threat. AÂ search yielded no credible threats and the store was reopened after Wal-Mart management determined that there was no danger to the public.
