The Oswego County Sheriff’s Department reports that David R. Burger, 22, of 80 Sixth Avenue, Oswego, appeared to be speeding on Route 104 near the Route 34 intersection in Hannibal. The department says a deputy tried to pull Burger’s car over, using the police car’s lights and siren, near the Stock Rd. intersection.

Fulton city lawmakers met briefly Thursday to buy two new cars — the last ones available in the state for the rest of the year –Ã‚Â for the Fulton Police Department. Mayor Ron Woodward said the city will pay cash, instead of borrowing money, to buy two interceptors for no more than $55,000.

At about 3:48 p.m. Wednesday, Oswego police officers and rescue personnel from the Oswego City Fire Department were dispatched to 136 W. Cayuga St. regarding a serious injury to a toddler. Fulton Police say they tried to pull over John D. Halstead, Jr., 41, of 1065 St. Rt. 48, at about 2:03 a.m. Sunday after watching his speeding car hit a curb on W. 1st St. (Route 48) near Curtis St.

Police allege Halstead did not pull over. Instead, he hit the gas, hitting speeds of up to 80 miles an hour as he left the city on Rt. 48.
