The Polaris ATVs were purchased utilizing funding obtained from Operation Stonegarden, a Federal Emergency Management Agency grant which provides funding to designated localities to enhance cooperation and coordination between Federal, State, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies.
The Oswego City Police Department wishes to announce the following overview of the events that took place in the city of Oswego during the weekend of Harborfest 2011 (Thursday July 28, 2011 – 5 p.m. to Sunday July 31, 2011 – 11 p.m.) as compared to Harborfest 2009 and 2010 (same time period).
In preparation for Harborfest 2011, The Oswego Police Department wishes to announce the following advisories regarding traffic, pedestrian and general information specific to the Harborfest celebration scheduled for July 28 – 31.
At approximately 7 p.m. Thursday, as a result of ongoing investigations into illegal drug activity, members of the Oswego City Police Department Criminal Investigations Division stopped a green Jeep motor vehicle in the area of East Ninth Street and East Bridge Street.
The City of Oswego Police Department has filed additional charges against David J. Spedding. He’s been charged in connection with burglaries at a local cemetery.
The Oswego City Police Department recently made multiple arrests as the result of investigations into area burglaries. Some suspects have been arrested. Other charges are pending.

A police sergeant was promoted and two new officers joined the force during the public ceremony. Also, three members of the fire department received promotions.
A joint investigation between the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office, the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, and the City of Fulton Police Department has resulted in the arrest of a Fulton man who was involved in a murder-for-hire plot.
An international attempt to smuggle drugs was busted recently by the Oswego City Police Department.
