UPDATED: Authorities still seeking the cause of Monday’s house fire. At approximately 12:55 p.m. Feb. 7 , Oswego City Police responded along with the Oswego City Fire Department to a confirmed structure fire at 86 Tallman St. No injuries were reported. Oswego Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 315-342-8120.
Investigation and field testing determined that the driver, 26-year-old Jodi Daniels, of 37 Lakeview Road, Oswego, was allegedly operating the vehicle while impaired by drugs and that, also riding in the vehicle were an 11-month-old and a 4-year-old child.
An Oswego Town man who allegedly lead police on a high-speed chase last fall, attempting at one point to run over an officer, has rejected a plea bargain. He would have faced 3.5 years in state prison, 3.5 years of probation and restitution. Now, Peter Losurdo III could face more jail time if convicted.
Matthew J. Parker, 51, of 217 S. Third St., Fulton, was arrested on Jan. 21 following an investigation by the City of Fulton Police Department.
At approximately 5:38 a.m. today, Oswego City Police responded to a report of a robbery in the area of West Fifth and Mohawk streets. The victim reported that an undisclosed amount of money was forcibly stolen from him.
He reportedly got physical with a female student. An internal investigation is under way and Oswego police are looking into the matter as well.
The Oswego Neighborhood Watch will host a Family Christmas Party on Dec. 15. The special event will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. in the Oswego Library’s community room down stairs.
On Dec. 3, at about 2:08 p.m., as a result of a “sting operation” conducted by the Oswego City Police Department, three suspects were arrested on felony drug charges.
Effective Dec. 1, through March 31, 2011, the following regulations will be in effect: There will be NO PARKING in the specified downtown parking Lots from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. (any day of the week) without a parking permit.
