Minetto Students Celebrate Reading

On June 4 at Breitbeck Pavilion the Leighton Home and School Association will hold a community yard sale from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Anyone interested in donating items for the effort can call Beth Clark at 216-4992 for drop-off/pick-up information or rent their own table under the pavilion for $8.
Trinity Catholic School will be hosting Death in the Ivy Halls, an interactive murder mystery musical comedy dinner theater, on Friday, May 20, at the Oswego Elks Club. The fun begins with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m. followed by dinner and the show starting at 7 p.m.

The youngsters invited them into their classrooms for some light refreshments and handmade gifts. For special after lunch treats, students helped make miniature cherry cheesecakes for their moms and dads.

With more than 100 combined years of experience, the Oswego High School Counseling Department prides itself on its ability to respond to students’ needs quickly and professionally. The OHS Counseling Department is in the spotlight this month for the Oswego City School District. Counselors Geoffrey Baer, Shawn Caroccio, Barbara Carroll, Rachel Henderson, Lisa Roman and Marilee Taylor can be found in the OHS counseling suite supporting individual students and student groups every day.

A Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) celebration was recently held at the Leighton School in Oswego. There were numerous education and recreational experiences.

Trinity Catholic School students participating in NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) solo-fest recently visited residents of Bishop’s Commons to share their musical talents.
Oswego City School District voters will be going to the polls on May 17 from noon to 9 p.m. at 10 polling places spread throughout the district. This year the voters in the fifth district or fifth ward in Oswego will be casting their ballots at the Cullinan Ice Rink, located directly behind Kingsford Park Elementary School.
Oswego City School District Board of Education committee meetings are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday in the Education Center board room.

The Oswego City School District Board of Education and Superintendent of Schools recognized the contributions of Oswego students who shaved their heads for St. Baldrick’s Day in the effort to fight childhood cancer.
