Sponsors Build $1000-To-Win Mirabito 4-Cylinder Outlaw Open This Friday At Fulton Speedway
Four-cylinder racers have received a boost for the annual Fulton Speedway Outlaw 200 Weekend Open Championship this Friday, September 30. […]
A few years ago former Fulton Speedway competitor Joe Buske, and his family came up with the idea to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network that is very near and dear to them. They chose the Fulton Speedway to put their idea in motion. Through the kindness and generosity of the great fans and race teams at the Fulton Speedway over the years, by the end of the 2016 racing season more than $20,000 has been raised for the Children’s Miracle Network.
In one of the more unique “ribbon cutting” ceremonies, two huge dump trucks today (Sept. 20) poured tons of clay on the front stretch of the Oswego Speedway. Even though the clay hadn’t been placed on the front stretch until today’s official “dumping of the clay,” the remainder of the track had its first layers of the new surface laid down recently; while outside the track work continues on new camping areas.
This year’s edition of Super Dirt Week will look significantly different for dirt race fans while for Oswego Speedway their facility will have a new makeover. It is less than 80 days to the beginning of Super Dirt Week and the process is well under way. Sitting down with World Racing Group Director of Events Jeff Hachmann at the site of this year’s event, he explained how SDW got to where it is. “In novice terms, wood chips will be put down to keep moisture and then 12-15 inches of clay will go down. We will water, roll and till the track just like a gardener would. There will be 600 loads of clay going down,” he said of transforming the Steel Palace into a dirt track once again.
With the holiday season upon us, live racing action may be suspended at several locations across the country, but thanks to Suzuki presents Speed Sport on MAVTV, Oswego Speedway will once again roar to life in the comfort of your own home through the month of January.
