Oswego State Ice Hockey Season Tickets Go On Sale August 10

The Laker men’s ice hockey team, which finished the 2009-10 season at 26-3-0 and were semifinalists at the NCAA Division III Ice Hockey Championships. Oswego State will play 15 home games during the 2010-11 regular season, including a season-opening exhibition against the Bradford Rattlers All-Stars on Oct. 16 in the Campus Center Ice Arena.

Former World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Champion and current NASCAR star Dave Blaney will be in competition at Fulton Speedway on Tuesday, August 3 in the special World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series event. Blaney, the 1995 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Champion is no stranger to Fulton Speedway as he won an All Star Circuit of Champions race at the track in 1987.

History Piece Returns To Rightful Place At Powers Gym

In 1957 the David Powers Gymnasium at the Frederick Leighton Elementary School was officially opened. To remember that special event the basketball used in the first game was placed on display in the trophy case. Oswego High School technology teacher Warren Shaw accepted the challenge and generously donated his time to refurbish the basketball.
