OHS Sports Teams Stay Active
The bowling team rolled to victory while the varsity basketball teams battled Liverpool and the jayvee girls’ basketball squad chalked up its fifth win of the year. Meanwhile, the girls’ hockey team lost.
The bowling team rolled to victory while the varsity basketball teams battled Liverpool and the jayvee girls’ basketball squad chalked up its fifth win of the year. Meanwhile, the girls’ hockey team lost.
It wasn’t exactly a holiday for Oswego High School athletes as the indoor track teams, girls’ basketball, boys’ ice hockey and bowlers were all in action recently.

The Oswego High School boys’ varsity basketball team gained a non-league win while the boys’ hockey team lost at the start of the holiday break.
In girls’ varsity basketball action the Lady Bucs scored a 46-30 win over host Watertown. Oswego swept Henninger on the lanes as the boys won 1,029-888, 959-880 and 1,021-881. The match was highlighted by Matt Clemons’ 771 triple and 289 game.
The swimmers gained a solid win while the girls’ ice hockey team started the season 2-0. Meanwhile, the boys’ basketball team nearly ended Baldwinsville’s winning streak.
Jake Metcalf paced the varsity Buc basketball team to its first win of the year while the bowling and wresting teams were in action on Tuesday night.
The ice hockey team scored its third one-goal win of the year, the girls’ varsity basketball team split and the boys’ basketball team lost a heartbreaking overtime decision. Meanwhile, the wrestling team was also competing as the first full winter sports weekend kept the Oswego Bucs busy.
Wrestling, hockey and bowling have commenced on the varsity sports level while modified teams continue to compete in volleyball and basketball. Ice hockey team remains unbeaten.

Fred Donabella scored on a rebound with just over four minutes remaining as the Oswego Bucs captured the season opening ice hockey game over Spencerport by a 4-3 margin.
The Lady Bucs capped an impressive season on Saturday at the Section 3 State Qualifier Championship swimming and diving meet at Nottingham High School. And, the girls’ cross country team closed out a successful season Saturday with an outstanding performance at the Section 3 Cross Country Championships.
