Stuff A Bus Program Benefits Several Hundred County Students

It’s Time To Stuff A Bus

school busDozens of people and organizations have plenty of stuff – ready to cram it all  into a school bus in support of the United Way of Greater Oswego County’s annual Stuff-A-Bus campaign. The United Way will have buses at eight convenient locations around the county on Aug. 10 so people can drop off their donations.

CYO Students Learn Importance Of Internet Safety

Counselors Kana Tryt, of Catholic Charities’ Family Support Services Program and Jen Butler of School Based Mental Health, addressed youth participating in the CYO Summer Drop-in Recreation Program on the importance of internet safety. Participants in Catholic Charities of Oswego County’s CYO Summer Program now have a better understanding of how to safely use the internet and avoid unpleasant experiences and unwanted attention.

Harborfest Announces 2011 Design Contest Winners

High School student Rececca Krass' artwork has been incorporated into the design for the 2011 Harborfest Trolley Button.

Harborfest has announced the winners of the 2011 Design Contest held this spring in conjunction with the Oswego City School District. This year’s “Great Britain/England” festival theme was captured by students from various schools in the Oswego City School District.

Minetto Recognizes Its Sixth Graders

Minetto Elementary School recently conducted its sixth grade honors program. Involved in the event were (in front) Corey Stevens (Principal’s Citizenship Award) and Douglas Schneider (Triple C) while in back are Principal Dean Goewey, Rachel Godden (Principal’s Citizenship Award), Minetto alum and OHS salutatorian Justine Harrington, Hannah Strzelinski (Triple C) and Minetto alum and OHS senior David Caramella.

Minetto Elementary School sixth graders were in the spotlight at the annual honors program conducted before a cafeteria-packed with parents, friends, family and staff members.

Bucs Up to Army Fitness Challenge

The Oswego High School team was the winner of the first ever U.S. Army Fitness Challenge competition held for county high schools. Members had to do two minutes of pushups and situps and run a timed two-mile course with points being awarded.
