SUNY Oswego Harnesses Wind Power

The turbine is hoisted to its new home by an Auburn Rigging crane. Workers on the ground hold ropes to prevent it from spinning until after it is in place.

A new wind turbine was installed Thursday on the roof of Lee Hall on the SUNY Oswego campus. The turbine, connected to the campus heating plant, will provide about 40,000 killowatt hours of electricity a year.

Public Issues Forum Set On Proposed Bion Project

OMS-ODK Combine To Grant Wish

Omicron Delta Kappa, SUNY Oswego’s National Leadership Honor Society wanted a way to connect with the local community. They discovered a perfect way to do that was by developing a program called “Take the Lead, Strengths, Leadership and Teamwork,” a program for Oswego Middle School students.

SUNY Oswego Students Plan ‘Give Back’ Event

The event will be a nice community picnic, organizers said. It will be held in Breitbeck Park with free picnic baskets of food for the first 50 families. Food at a discounted rate will be available for all other attendees to purchase. There will be plenty of activities and recycling education as well.

City Alerts Parents To College Students’ Behavior

Earlier this school year, the city has been sending letters to parents of SUNY Oswego students who have been issued an appearance ticket or arrested in Oswego. The system is going well, according to Mayor Randy Bateman who has signed dozens of the form letters so far.
