Sheriff Reuel A. Todd is pleased to announce the appointment of Eugene F. Sullivan III to the position of Undersheriff of Oswego County. Undersheriff Sullivan is a 16-year member, being appointed by then Sheriff Charles F. Nellis, as a deputy in 1995.
Oswego County Sheriff’s Department is one of the 18 out of the state’s 62 counties that qualified for civil accreditation, according to Peter Kehoe, counsel and executive director of the NYS Sheriffs’ Association. To achieve accreditation, requires that the Civil Office meets a very strict set of standards set by experts in the field of civil process, he said.
Don Todd told Oswego Sunrise Rotary about his new position as Oswego County Court Judge. He has attended training for new judges in White Plains. Since returning to Oswego, he has worked in Oswego County Family Court.
On Oct. 28, Donald Todd told the Oswego Sunrise Rotary club why he should be elected Oswego County Court Judge.
Former Oswego County Sheriff Charles F. Nellis died Saturday morning at this home in Parish. Nellis served as Oswego County Sheriff from 1984 through 1998, retiring after four terms in office. Those who worked with him remember Nellis as honest and fair, with a great sense of humor and a compassionate side for children and those less fortunate.
