Supporters of the United Way of Greater Oswego County filled the Parish Center at Holy Trinity Church in Fulton as the community came together to enjoy a delicious meal of soup, salad and breads at United Way’s “Stone Soup Too” Luncheon.

Campaign coordinator Rob Rolfe and the campaign team from Pathfinder Bank were honored at the United Way of Greater Oswego County’s annual Salute to Volunteers held March 9 at The American Foundry.

The United Way of Greater Oswego County recently presented Oswego County Opportunities with a Certificate of Recognition in honor of the agency’s Leadership and Commitment to United Way’s Annual Campaign.

Patrick Dewine of Friendly’s Restaurant in Oswego was honored recently at the United Way of Greater Oswego County’s Annual Salute to Volunteers.

The United Way of Greater Oswego County presented the Oswego JC Penney Store with the Leadership and Commitment Award at the United Way’s annual meeting held March 9 at the American Foundry.

In an effort to increase support for its 2010 / 2011 Annual Campaign and create additional excitement for in-house employee campaigns, the United Way offered special prizes as an incentive for supporting its campaign.

Volunteers are the life blood of the United Way, usually toiling away behind the scenes. However, they were center stage Wednesday at the organization’s annual meeting. Melanie Trexler, executive director of the United Way of Greater Oswego County, gave a heart-felt thank you to all the dedicated individuals who joined together to make the 2010 – 2011 United Way campaign a success. They just passed 90% of their goal and there is still plenty of time left for you to contribute.
As part of its 73rd annual meeting on Wednesday, the United Way will pay tribute to the lifeblood of the organization – its many dedicated volunteers. To find out how you can become a volunteer, call 593-1900.
