TRAFFIC ALERT: Beginning today (Aug. 9), crews will be making the change over, opening the north side of the Utica Street Bridge and closing the south side of the bridge. This change will most likely take all day to complete. As has been the case, the bridge will remain open during the project with one lane available for traffic in each direction.
Work is set to get under way on the bridge next week. They will keep one lane of traffic open both ways during the project.
The Oswego City Police Department wishes to alert citizens that the New York State Department of Transportation will be starting the Utica Street Bridge project in the city within the next two weeks.
Work will get under way this spring on the bridge. The mayor said construction should be completed by August 2011. Traffic will be maintained, one lane each direction, during construction.
