Dilip K. Roy, former Fulton doctor was sentenced today (June 27) to 28 days in Oswego County Jail to be served in intermittent 48 hour periods each week along with six years of probation. Roy was arrested in May 2015 after a patient reported to authorities in April that she was subjected to unwanted sexual intercourse at Roy’s medical practice, FastCare Family Medical located at 941 S. First St., Fulton in March of the same year when she was being treated as a patient. An eventual plea deal allowed Roy to plead guilty to a lessened charge of sexual misconduct, a class A misdemeanor, for which he was sentenced today.
An underutilized facility at the former Miller Brewery in Volney could help boost economic development in the region. “They have an asset right now that is an underutilized wastewater treatment plant that is actually large enough to serve a city with a population of 350,000 people. It’s a real shame to have an asset like that sit unused,” proponents of the project said.
Located at the Bristol Hill Landfill, 3125 State Route 3, Volney, the facility will be open Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 to 11 a.m. from May through September.
Clinics will be held May 4 at the Bristol Hill Solid Waste Facility, 3125 state Route 3, Volney; June 8 at the West Monroe Town Garage, 46 County Route 11, West Monroe; and July 13 at the County Highway Garage, 957 Centerville Road, Pulaski.
Evelyn L. McDonald, 80, of Volney passed away suddenly on September 6, 2010.
After an investment of approximately $25 million and months of capital work, the 100-million-gallon-per-year ethanol manufacturing plant began operations in late June and sold its first shipment of corn-based ethanol on June 30.
Pauline E. Zahler, 85, died Tuesday in Syracuse.
More than 100 Volney homeowners who get water from the city will pay the lower rate paid by city residents from now on. In return, Volney will no longer collect more than $2,700 in town taxes on land the city owns in the town.
