Dave White Officially Kicks Off Bid For Mayor’s Job

Dave White greets supporters Thursday as he officially announced his candidacy for mayor of Oswego.

William “Dave” White is president, but he wants to be mayor. On Thursday afternoon, the out-going president of the Oswego City School District’s Board of Education officially kicked off his campaign to become the next mayor of the Port City. Dozens of family members and supporters, including various candidates for city and county positions, applauded White’s announcement outside the Republican Headquarters on West Utica Street.

Oswego School District Looks To Fund Clubs

In the coming school year’s budget, cuts were made to the stipends of some clubs’ advisers. Tuesday night, school board member Dave White sought to have funds returned to four long-time OHS clubs. Sam Tripp, board president, said he supported the idea. But, the money would have to come from some other place as he won’t increase the budget. […]
