OSWEGO — The Tami Tango Trio of Buenos Aires will perform authentic tango music Tuesday, Oct. 26, at SUNY Oswego, as dancers demonstrate the sensual dance native to Argentina.
The trio, which includes noted flutist Eduardo Tami, will perform at 7:30 p.m. in Sheldon Hall ballroom. Members of the group play flute, piano and guitar. The presentation will be free and open to the public.
The public also may attend master classes the trio will offer:
* Language: 12:40 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25, in the Campus Center auditorium.
* Music: 11:10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, in Room 101 of Lanigan Hall.
* Dance: 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, in the dance studio, Room 300 of Lee Hall. The trio encourages those who want to learn the tango to bring a partner and to wear shoes that are a bit slippery (no rubber soles, sneakers or sandals).
The department of modern languages and literatures and the Office of International Education and Programs sponsor Tami Tango Trio’s visit and program, with support from Artswego and the student arts fee.
Parking in campus lots is free nights and weekends. Patrons who have a disability and need assistance should call 312-3358.
