Task Force Seeks Nominations for Friend of Autism Award

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego County Autism Task Force is currently seeking nominations for the 2012 “Friend of Autism” Award.

Is there a certain individual that has gone above and beyond their daily routine to help enhance the lives of people affected by autism?

How about a person showing a special interest in learning how to better communicate or interact with someone with autism?

Perhaps a teacher or therapist that has done extensive research to broaden their knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder?

Maybe an advocate or respite provider that has taken the time to really get to know your individual with autism, allowing them to participate in social activities that otherwise would not be possible?

The recipient who is selected must be an Oswego County community member who lives or works in the county who has championed the cause of autism in their community.

The winner may be an individual or a group and/or agency and cannot be a current OCATF member.

All nominations can be sent to Theresa Familo at Parents of Special Children Inc., 2 C Tower Drive, Fulton, NY  13069 before the March 30 deadline.

The winner will be announced at the Annual Family Fun Walk for Autism, April 28.
