Teachers “Plunge for the Pantry”

For the second year, volunteers from the Phoenix Central School Teacher’s Association will “Plunge for the Pantry” on Saturday, January 9, 2010. The courageous PCSTA members will jump in the frigid waters of the Oswego River at North Island in Phoenix at 1:00 p.m. The “jumpers” have acquired monetary sponsors to back them in order to raise money for the Phoenix Food Pantry.

PCSTA President David Webb stated, “The local pantry has seen a significant increase in the number of families they service — up by 114! For many of our student’s families, the Pantry is an important resource. The PCSTA is committed to doing our part in helping keep the Pantry’s shelves stocked. I am thrilled we are able to again host the Plunge for the Pantry. We hope many will come out, bring a can to donate, and support the Pantry by watching our own Phoenix “Polar Bears” jump in the river!”
