The Hannibal Varsity And Modified Teams compete in the 2010 Sandy Creek “Cross the Creek ” Invitational

The Hannibal Varsity and Modified Cross Country Teams traveled to Sandy Creek on Saturday October 23rd, to compete in the 2010 “Cross the Creek” Invitational.

There were 13 teams along with Hannibal. APW, Beaver river, DeRuyter, Gouverneur, Jamesville-Dewitt, Liverpool, Nottingham, Phoenix, Sandy Creek, Solvay, South Jefferson, and Watertown.

This was the Modified teams last meet and by far their best!

The Modified Boys brought home the 2nd place award with help from 4th place overall finisher Griffin Klein (12:10 for the 1.9 mile course).

The Modified Girls brought home the 3rd place award. Kristen D’Angelo led the girls with an 11th place finish overall (13:48 for the 1.9 mile course).

The Varsity Girls recorded a 9th place finish. Eighth grader Michaela Sheldon, the 2nd year Varsity Runner finish 10th place overall with a time of 21:38 (3.1 mile course).

The Varsity Boys continued their incredible season by bringing home again a 1st place plaque! This is their second Championship in 8 days!

The Warriors were led by Sherzod Shamiev who came in 2nd place overall with a time of 17:14 for the 3.1 mile course. Next in line for Hannibal were Ben Griffin (4th), Ryan Perry (5th), Ben Slate (11th) and Curtis Baker (12th). Hannibal scored 34 points for the day. Rounding out the top 5 were: 2nd place Solvay with 91 points, 3rd place Watertown with 94 points, 4th place South Jefferson with 100 points, and 5th place Jamesville Dewitt with 146 points.

Next up for the Warriors is the OHSL Championships this Saturday Oct. 30th at Jamesville Beach.
