The Herdmans Take Over Christmas

OSWEGO – The Oswego Children’s Theater’s holiday production of Barbara Robinson’s “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” tells a wonderful story of the true meaning of Christmas, when a family from the wrong side of town, the Herdmans, are inadvertently invited to Sunday school, and take over the annual church Christmas pageant.

Along the way, they hear the original Christmas Story for the first time.

The pageant is almost canceled as the church struggles to accept with the new-comers, but in the end everything turns out right and everyone learns a lesson in tolerance.

“The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” features a large cast of area children and adults led by veteran director Lyndsie Lee Jones asssited by Ken Jones and Wayne and Kelly Mosher.

The show is presented by special arrangement with Sammuel French Inc.

“The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” will be presented November 29, 30 and December 1 at 7:30 p.m. with a special matinee performance on December 2 at 2 p.m.

All performances will be at the First Congregational Church of New Haven located on Route 104 East in the town of New Haven.

Tickets for are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and children.
