The Art Association of Oswego is proud to announce that the 2011 Lakeside Statewide Juried Art Exhibition will open with a public reception on Saturday, March 12 from 7-9 pm at the Oswego Civic Arts Center. The reception is free and open to the public. The exhibition is sponsored in part by a generous grant from Constellation Energy. Artists from across New York State submitted work for consideration in a wide variety of media including drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, printmaking, photography, ceramics and digital media.

The juror for this year’s exhibition was Ms. Susan Blumendale of Rochester. Ms. Blumendale is an award-winning fine artist whose work involves creative approaches to paper and papermaking. She has a Master’s of Fine Arts degree from Rochester Institute of Technology, where she teaches courses in Design.

An award ceremony will be held on opening night at 8 pm. The Art Association of Oswego galleries are housed in the Oswego Civic Arts Center, which is located at the northern end of East Fourth Street in the City of Oswego directly across from historic Fort Ontario. Regular gallery hours are from 2–5 pm on Saturdays and Sundays or by appointment. The exhibition continues until Sunday, April 10.
