The Fulton Lions Club has announced that they will be hosting “The Mane Event” comedy night with nationally known comedian Tom Anzalone, April 25, 8 p.m. at the Fulton Polish Home, said Don Labarge, Fulton Lions president.
“In addition to Tom Anzalone, we’ll also have comedians Grant Fletcher and Steven Rogers in what is sure to be a fun, entertaining night for all,” Labarge said. “Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.
“Advance sale tickets are $12 and can be purchased at Devine Designs, Fulton Medicine Place, Phoenix Medicine Place and Mimi’s Drive-In. The ticket donation is $15 per person at the door and tables of 10 may also be purchased in advance for $175 each. For information, contact Event Chair, Gail Holmes, at 592-4245.
Anzalone is an international musical comedy star, Holmes said. He has been on Showtime, Comedy Central, America’s Funniest People and he has been featured on National Public Radio. He has been the opening act for Jay Leno, Ray Romano, Dennis Miller and Rob Schneider. He headlines at comedy clubs, casinos, colleges, military bases and cruse ships. “He’s a very funny and talented singer, guitar playing comedian and can delight any audience with his up and offbeat sense of humor.”
Fletcher has been a long time student of comedy, Holmes said. As soon as he took his first comedy class he knew he wanted to get on stage. His self-deprecating style of humor has been seen in New York City, Atlanta and Raleigh and throughout Upstate New York. Not only is he performing but also he produces The Unforgettable Comedy Challenge to find up and coming comedy stars.
“Steven Rogers has been making people laugh for the past year to the delight of audiences throughout the Northeast, including his parents who hope he becomes successful enough to move out of the basement,” Holmes said. “He’s funny, likeable, and takes you on a journey into the world of ‘loveable victim’. Steve performs regularly at The Funny Bone Comedy Club, Syracuse, as well as at banquet halls, bars, restaurants, and at home for his parents who still have to pay a cover charge and meet a two-drink minimum.”
The Fulton Lions Club, also know for its Lions Loot Sweepstakes and Labor Day Duck Derby, provides financial assistance for those in need of eyeglasses, eye exams and hearing aids to residents in the Greater Fulton area.
