The Oswego Children’s Theater Announce Auditions for “Babes in Toyland”

The Oswego Children’s Theater will be hosting auditions for a holiday production of the classic musical “Babes in Toyland

The Auditions are scheduled for Thursday October 22 from 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. and Friday October 23 also 6 p.m. till 8 p.m., at the Home of Mosher Family located at 151 East Seneca Street, in Oswego.

“Babes in Toyland” was adapted for the modern stage by Wayne and Kelly Mosher. The show is based on a classic musical extravaganza by Victor Herbert and Glen McDonough, which was the basis for another holiday classic, the movie “The March of the Wooden Soldiers” Babes in Toyland features many famous songs including” Toyland”, “I Can’t Do the Sum”, and “The March of the Wooden Soldiers”.

Participation in this production is open to all area youth and adults. Those auditioning should be prepared to recite a short monologue, such as nursery rhyme, and sing a song. Cast members may also be asked to read from the script. The play requires a large cast with many individual roles available.

Lyndsie Lee Jones will direct this production, which is slated to be performed in early December at the new home of the Oswego Children’s Theater, The Oswego Community Performing Arts Center, located in the former Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church ,at the Corner of West Third and Erie Streets in Oswego.
