Chris and Dale BixlerMost people, when they claim to be theater lovers, mean that they like to attend and participate in live theater productions.

However for Chris and Dale Bixler, featured actors in the Oswego Player’s up coming production of “Ten Little Indians”, the phrase takes on a additional, more personal meaning. For, they in fact first met each other during rehearsals for a community theater production of the musical “The Canterbury Tales”, in Fairfield California.

“We started out as dance partners in the show” said Chris, “and from there the relationship blossomed into a full fledged romance”.

The couple maintained a long term relationship for five years while Chris served as an Air Force Pilot, stationed in the San Francisco area and Dale served as a single mother stationed in Texas. Now with their children all grown and Chris retired from the service, they have settled in Dale’s hometown of Oswego operating The Serendipity Bed and Breakfast. Dale had appeared with the Oswego Players in a previous production, and had an enjoyable time, so the couple decided to tread the boards together once again.

In addition to the Bixlers, the cast of “Ten Little Indians” includes: Mark Mirabito, Nelson Metz, Sherri Baker, Jim McGann, Freda Kocher, Bobby Fontana, Troy Pepper, Matt Lamphere and Ken Snow.

The production is under the direction of Inez Manor Parker assisted by Shanna White as Stage Manager, Richard Mosher, as Light Designer, Ken Snow and Norman Berlin Jr as set designers, Amanda Mosher, as special effects make-up designer, Kelly Mosher, as Costume designer, and by Larry Rose on sound.

“Ten Little Indians” will be presented on July 11, 12, 18, 19, at 8 p.m. and July 20 at 2 p.m. at the Frances Marion Brown Theater, located in the Civic Arts Center Building, in Fort Ontario Park, in Oswego. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for Seniors and $7 for Students.
