The Oswego Players and The Church of the Resurrection in collaboration will present the classic Neil Simon comedy, Ã¢â‚¬Å“RumorsÃ¢â‚¬Â, in dinner theater, format on September 23 and 24
The story of the play follows four affluent couples who gather in the posh suburban residence of another couple for a dinner party celebrating their host’s tenth anniversary. When they arrive, they discover the hostess is missing, and the host – the deputy mayor of New York City – has shot himself through the earlobe. Comic complications arise when, given everyone’s upper class status, they decide they need to do everything possible to conceal the evening’s events from the local police and the media.
The roles of the four couples will be filled by Oswego Players veterens Nelson Metz and Sherrie Baker; Kelly Mahon and Jim McGann; Matt Lamphere and Jennie Snow; and Laura Lowerie and Peter Mahon. In addition Sonia and Norman Berlin will be featured as a pair of police officers.
The show will be directed by Inez Manor Parker assited by Erin and Shannon McIntosh.
Ã¢â‚¬Å“RumorsÃ¢â‚¬Â will be presented in dinner theater format on the evenings of Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24 with dinner being served at 630 p.m. and the show starting at 7:30 p.m. The show will be performed at the Church of the Resurrection located at 120 West Fifth Street in Oswego. The menu will consist of a traditional ham and scalloped potato church dinner served family style.
Tickets for the dinner and show are $25 with show only tickets available at $10.
