The Race To The Championship Starts Saturday At Fulton Speedway

FULTON, NY – After a highly successful Highbank Holdup, all attention this Saturday turns to the first points race of the 2015 season and the season long battle for a Fulton Speedway track championship.

On the exciting race card at the Route 57 oval will be the Tracey Road Equipment DIRTcar Modifieds/SUNY Canton Sportsman/NAPA Late Models/E&V Energy Novice Sportsman and the Hilton’s Automotive Four-Cylinders.

Larry Wight will return to defend his 2014 Tracey Road Equipment DIRTcar Modified Championship. With the level of competition on a weekly basis that includes last Saturday’s Highbank Holdup 100 winner Billy Decker, Jimmy Phelps, Pat Ward, Rob Bellinger, Tom Sears Jr., Ryan Phelps, Tim Sears Jr., Chad Phelps, Chuck Bower, Chris Hile, Jim Witko Jr. and others makes wins and titles hard earned.

Led by the 2014 Track Champion Ron Davis III, the racing future looks bright with the young and talented drivers in the strong SUNY Canton Sportsman. In 2014 eleven different drivers visited victory lane showing the level of competition on a weekly basis.

Some of the best racing you’ll see takes place in the NAPA Late Models as there is always great side-by-side racing throughout the season.

The already tough field of cars will be growing this season with the addition of former IMCA Modified standouts Kevan Cook and Chris Fleming.

If last week’s E&V Energy Novice Sportsman feature was any indication it should be a competitive season in the class.

Close racing was found from the front of the field to the back with Kevin Root making the winning pass with just a handful of laps left.

Teams have been hard at work during the off-season in the Hilton’s Automotive Four-Cylinders trying to find a way to dethrone 2014 Track Champion Chuck Powelczyk who had eight feature wins in 2014.

Gates will open Saturday at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 6 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m.

Adult grandstand admission is $12 with everyone 18 years old and younger free. Pit admission is $27 participant/$30 non-participant.
