Thomas C. Magner, Jr.


Thomas C. Magner, Jr., a resident of Oswego, passed away Sept. 21, 2011 in Syracuse.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of Eileen (Reifke) Magner of Oswego and the late Thomas C. Magner Sr.

He was the Owner and Operator of the Office Tavern Restaurant, Crews Quarters Lodging, and Riverview Exchange Redemption Center, along with his wife, Sandra. He previously worked for the Oswego City School District as an Electrician, and owned Magner’s Texaco and many other small businesses through the years.

Tom enjoyed golf and boating and was a corvette lover. He vacationed in Saint Maarten for over 18 years. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving besides his mother, are his wife, Sandra (O’Bey) Magner; his daughter, Mary Shannon (Dave) Proud; his brother, Robert (Marilyn) Magner of Oswego; his sister, Kelly (Greg) Thomas of Oswego; his grandchildren, Mary Mackenzie Proud and Kiernan Edward Proud; and his nieces and nephews, Bobby Magner, Matt Magner, Morgan Thomas, Nick Thomas, Brian Thomas, John Spath, Billy Ferguson, Melanie Curtis, Lannie O’Bey, Lachelle Duval, Jason, Johnathan, and Jessica Foster, Adam and Kayla Wallace, and Ashley Streeter.

Calling hours will be held 2-5pm, Sunday, Sept. 25 at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.

Services will be held 10am Monday, Sept. 26 at St. Mary’s Church.

In Lieu of flowers, contributions to the St. Luke Activity Fund, 299 East River Road, Oswego or a charity of one’s choice.

    Dear Sandy We have been friends 4-ever. I just want you to know how sorry I’m about Tommy. I’ve been there. My heart is with you. God bless and my prayers are with you.

    Sandy. We were so sorry to hear about Tommy. We go back to the 60’s –the good ole drag racing days–those were the days. We need to remember the good times and the precious moments. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the Magner family.
