Thomas P. Giambo, 69

Thomas P. Giambo, 69, of Murrells Inlet, SC, died Tuesday peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.

Mr.Giambo was born and raised in Oswego, the son of the late Anthony and Virginia (Amedio) Giambo. He had retired from the Ikon Co, in Watertown as Branch Manager. Upon retirement Mr. Giambo moved to Venice FL in 1992, and later to Murrells Inlet, SC in 2006.

He was a former member of the Dante Alighieri Lodge #436, Oswego where he served as Venerable. He was a former member of the Elks Lodge in Venice FL, and an active member of the Moose Club in Murrells Inlet, SC. Mr. Giambo was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Oswego, and St. Michael’s Church, SC.

He is survived by his wife Mary “Judy” Giambo of Murrells Inlet, SC, children Nicholas (Melinda) Giambo of VA, Tara (Roger) Wells of Oswego, Paul (Michelle) Gregoris of Oswego, Rick Gregoris of Canastota, two brothers Samuel Giambo of Oswego, Joseph (MaryAnne) Altamont, NY, twelve grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday 8:30 a.m. from the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral home and 9:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in All Saints Mausoleum. Calling hours will be Sunday 2:00 –5:00 p.m. at the funeral Home 147 West Fourth Street, Oswego.

    Our deepest condolences to the Giambo Family. We were neighbors of Tom & Judy on Morgan Drive in Oswego. We always thought very highly of them and we were saddened to hear of Tom’s death . Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this sad time.
