Tim Sears Jr. Ready For Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified Wars

By Dave Medler
CENTRAL SQUARE, NY – On the calendar, Tim Sears Jr. might be young in years at 20, in the racing world he has proven to be a skilled and versatile driver.

Some drivers just seem to have a natural talent behind the wheel of a race car, Sears just happens to be one of them. It didn’t matter if it was a SUNY Canton Sportsman or a NAPA Late Model, victories and titles have come his way quickly.

Sears comes from a talented racing family, as his father Tim Sears and Uncle Tom Sears Jr. are both talented modified drivers, who have countless years of racing for the young Sears to lean on. In fact, in recent years Sears’s father got out from behind the wheel to allow his son to pursue his racing career.

Like any dirt driver in the Northeast, it’s a dream to drive a Big Block Modified, but finances are a big thing to make it a reality. Sears said an opportunity opened up to make it a reality.

“John Wight, he offered us a deal on a big block motor (LJL Kevlar Racing Engines), so we jumped at the chance to finally move up.” Said Sears, who also related it would not be possible without the help from LJL Racing.

A lot of drivers as young as Sears, with his success think they are going to set the world on fire right away when they move-up in racing. Sears has a good head on his shoulders and is realistic when you look at the ultra-talented field of drivers who call the Brewerton and Fulton Speedways home.

“My expectations aren’t too high to start because I understand how big of a step it is moving up, but I’m going to get as much seat time as I can, and we will go from there.”

Those who are making this Big Block Modified ride possible are – Mullen Industrial, Pit Stop Convenience Stores, Gypsum Wholesalers, Bicknell Racing Products, Bilstein Racing Shocks and A&J Enterprises. On a personal level Sears had to thank his grandmother and grandfather, mom and dad, Uncle Tom (Sears), crew and LJL Racing.

Sears will still be racing selected FASTRAK Northeast Late Model shows during the 2012 season.

If talent, family and a hard work ethic are any indication, Tim Sears Jr. will be a success in his latest racing endeavor.
