Kick Butts Day is a national day of activism sponsored by the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids that empowers youth to speak out and stand up to the tobacco industry in an effort to end tobacco use once and for all.

Reality Check of Cayuga, Onondaga and Oswego counties sponsored this year’s banner.

There are 25 Reality Check organizations covering every county of New York State from Long Island to Buffalo.

Since 2001, Reality Check youth have been working across New York State to educate community leaders and their peers about the manipulative tactics of the tobacco industry to recruit youth to become the next generation of replacement smokers.

Reality Check meets monthly in each of the three counties for planning, training and participation in community activities.

Interested youth should contact Kathleen A. Knopp-Haney, RC Coordinator for Cayuga, Onondaga and Oswego counties, at 315-343-2344 #23 or via email at [email protected] for an application.
