OSWEGO, NY – Wednesday evening, Novelis Supermodified veteran Todd Stowell took his first laps around Oswego Speedway since the 2010 running of the Budweiser International Classic 200, in anticipation of next Friday’s CNY Chevy Dealers Classic Qualifying Night.
Stowell, a two-time Supermodified feature winner at the Speedway who qualified on the front row of the Classic in 2005, returned to the Speedway Wednesday with the same Xtreme chassis that took him to a seventh place finish in the 2010 Classic.
With the help of Oswego Speedway Hall of Famer Danny Soule, Stowell took several laps around the ‘Steel Palace’ to gain his bearings before eventually making his way down to a quick lap of 17.055-seconds in the No. 89.
While Stowell is not yet officially entered for the Classic, his intention to run next weekend looks to push the Classic field to near 39 cars for the weekend.
Three-day tickets for Budweiser Classic Weekend are available for as low as $90 including Friday night’s CNY Chevy Dealers Qualifying Night, Bud Light ‘Super Saturday’ featuring the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and the ISMA Supermodifieds, as well as Budweiser ‘Classic Sunday’ with the 25th Bud Light SBS Classic and the 60th Budweiser International Classic 200.
